The Sun on Her Face and the Wind on Her Back

My daughter is 15 years old. She is autistic, has sensory processing disorder, and anxiety. She spends much of her day trying to calm both her mind and her body. There are very few things that are able to regulate both of those things simultaneously. A long walk in nature on a sunny, breezy day is just what she needs to achieve inner peace, even if only for a short time.

With the sun on her face and the wind on her back, she walks down the street while humming along to the sounds of birds chirping with excitement.

With the sun on her face and the wind on her back, there is something about nature that brings her a sense of peace and contentment.

With the sun on her face and the wind on her back, she is free from the confinements of school and expectations.

With the sun on her face and the wind on her back, she feels exhilaration as the leaves crunch beneath her feet.

With the sun on her face and the wind on her back, she studies the multicolored rocks as they glisten in the sunlight.

With the sun on her face and the wind on her back, she can smell the desert flowers that are in bloom, and the air is strong yet sweet.

With the sun on her face and the wind on her back, the sunlight catches all the red flecks in her wavy brown hair.

With the sun on her face and the wind on her back, we look to the majestic mountains as they complement her confident stride as we walk down the street.

It’s the simple things in life that will bring us the most peace. So we will forever find happiness together with the sun on our faces and the wind on our backs.
