How She Experiences the World

Feature image_6483441
You, my sweet girl,
Experience the world
Around you,
In a completely different way
Then other people may.
But just because it’s different,
Doesn’t make it less than.
Maybe we should take
Things in the way you do.
You may not play
Pretend
Or use toys the way
Other children do.
But that’s ok.
Play is play.
And a child can play
In their own way.
For example,
You find the greatest joy
In watching things scatter.
A cup of water being poured
Is your greatest treasure
To explore.
Sand is just sand to us,
But you, it is precious.
Dump and pour and
Watch it fall.
Each grain is special
You watch it all.
See, most people don’t see
Pouring water or sand
As anything special,
But to you, it is everything.
And because it is important to you,
I can see things in a new way too.
The ordinary is more than plain.
It’s in the everyday
Where you explore and learn
And GROW.
And there’s just so much more
For you to explore.
