A Family of Six

Well, we survived our first day and night as a family of six!

Some things were as we expected. Some were a surprise.

Sawyer is an amazing big brother and he fell in love instantly.

Cooper is taking his time to get to know her and we are in no way rushing him. He acknowledged her at first and is now keeping his distance.

Harbie is obsessed with her. At age two we didn’t quite know how he’d respond to her. Well, it’s all love. She is his baby and he wants to hold her nonstop, kiss her, and hug her. We are hoping he settles in.

She will not lack for love. And she is an amazing baby. By far my calmest.

When she does cry, Harbie cries, which causes Cooper to scream. And it gets real intense for a few moments.

I sent a photo of the two bigger boys to both their teachers so they could show off their new sister. I knew Cooper may not care but I wanted to share anyways. His teacher’s response was perfect.

He is proud.

As for mom and dad, we are exhausted. But that was to be expected.

Finding Cooper’s Voice is a safe, humorous, caring and honest place where you can celebrate the unique challenges of parenting a special needs child.
