Step Into My World, My Son’s World
Shia is our beautiful autistic, primarily non verbal, 10 year old son, who also has sensory processing disorder.
I have watched him in his world over the years. I have felt his world deeply and I have seen the impact his world has on his Daddy. Enjoy a peek into his world as you read below…
Come into my world and I will help you let go of the things that cause you to lose your peace…just ask my Daddy.
Your world is too chaotic for me. Too much noise. Too much hurry. Too busy. Too loud. The energy of the people in your world is just too intense for me. Too much anger. Too much fear. Too much worry. Too much stress. Too much negativity.
In my world life is simple, peaceful and calm. I laugh often. I listen to music. I walk around outside barefoot all the time. I sit in silence often. I enjoy the sunshine and all that nature has to offer. I spend more time outside than inside. I enjoy the simple things. I am content. I am joyful. I am peaceful. I am still.
But…the moment I step into your world, everything changes. I feel the intensity of it all. I can’t handle it. I don’t know how to process all that I am sensing. It is overwhelming for me until I step back into my world and regain peace again.
Maybe your world is overwhelming for you too.
It seems when my Daddy steps into my world everything that he is dealing with in his world just falls away.
So I invite you to take time to disconnect from your world and step into my world…Shia’s world.
I bet, just like my Daddy, you will find it is easy to let go of all the stresses and burdens of your world and find peace and joy again.
