Captain’s Log: Day 4, Social Distancing

03_20_2020_day4

Positives: I finished my laundry for the first time in nine years. All of it. Done. We are cleaning our basement and finding amazing treasures and crap. So, that’s great.

Struggles: We are all spending entirely too much time together. I feel like I’m not going to know how to socialize after this.

Sawyer: ‘Mom, who was your favorite boyfriend besides Dad? Was he better than Dad?’

Me: ?

Sawyer: ‘Mom, the baby is in your drawer! You know the one, beside your bed, that I am not allowed to open under any circumstance. Yeah, he’s in there. Are those toys?!?!’

Me: ?

Sawyer: ‘Mom, are you having a baby?’

Me: ?

Sawyer: ‘Mom, Dad said the A-word! He said Jack first. Then the A word. Did you hear it?! MOM, I’m going to say it. I’m going to say it too! Will I get in trouble if I say it?’

Me: ?

Sawyer: ‘Mom, get on the scale. Let’s see what we weigh? Wow. That’s a big number. Like really big.’

Me: ?

Sawyer: ‘Is this plain water? Or a mommy drink? Because one time I took a sip and it made me do an icky face. I think it was bodka.’

Me: ‘ Sawyer, it’s 9 am. Of course it’s water.’

Sawyer: ‘I think it was morning that other time too Mom.’

Me: ?

Sawyer: ‘Are we going to be stuck in this house forever mom? Because it feels like forever.’

Me: ?

We got this friends. One day we will look back on this and smile and laugh. I promise.
