I Hope You Know

IMG_08461

My sweet girl,

You have no idea how much I love you.

But the truth is, I don’t yet know how much you love me either.

We are a mommy and daughter communicating in different languages and I am still desperately trying to learn yours.

You don’t hug or kiss me yet, but that’s okay.

I just want to know….

Do you feel loved when I hug and kiss you?

When I smile and tickle you?

When I sit and try to play with you?

When I sing for you and act silly?

When I play peek-a-boo with you?

When I spin you around and throw you in the air just to make you laugh?

When I buy you toys and equipment that I think you’ll like?

When I search out providers who I think will help?

When I call you beautiful and comb your hair?

I wish I could see the world through your eyes just once.

I want to see what you see.

I want to hear what you hear.

I want to feel what you feel.

But most of all, I hope you one day know just how much I love you.
