Parents, Celebrate It All
There are many first in our children’s lives. Some we take note of and some we don’t. Most just happen without a second thought.
It’s not like that in our world. My son has had to work hard for every single milestone.
This is the first time I’ve seen my son independently play.
He is working towards iPad time. He’s been at it for 15 minutes now.
Sitting. Problem solving. Spelling. Puzzling. Trying. Babbling.
There are no words to express how shocked and proud I am of him. How natural it feels.
And a reminder to the moms and dads with younger kids…it doesn’t matter one bit at what age our kids do their firsts.
Age 8 and I’m shouting from the rooftops!
I used to feel that way.
Like I shouldn’t be AS happy or AS excited because my son achieved milestones later. Like learning to throw a ball, saying the H sound, or putting his shoes on.
It is just as big of deal at whatever age.
Don’t ever forget that parents. You celebrate!
