When Hard Work Pays Off
This kid played one heck of a baseball game tonight.
He hit the ball twice WITHOUT mom’s help. He ran the bases and didn’t need my help to stay calm!
He clapped, cheered and perfected the double high five-down low-up high-chest bump with mom.
Grandma and Grandpa were there cheering so he brought his best game! He even stopped mid-base to wave at them and request they clap.
In the field he snagged a few balls, ran them back to the coach and took in a few minutes of Thomas the Train on my iPhone.
After to innings, he pointed to the car and used his words to say ‘store’ and ‘home.’ He was done.
Which is just fine to us.
We rewarded him with a trip to his favorite grocery store where he picked out a small treat.
Most amazing part…he walked through the store entirely on his own. He even helped me checkout at the self-checkout.
I remember the day when we couldn’t step into a store. Or walk through a parking lot. Or wait in a check out line.
Hard work pays off!
Oh, and he wore his jersey to school today. Because it was game day!
Go watch my Instagram story (findingcoopersvoice) to see his calm self in the store. It will make me smile. I promise.
Cheers! So proud of this kid.
