Just Make The Call
I can’t do it. I can’t make myself physically pick up the phone and call for this service. Life is not fair. I can’t do another evaluation. I don’t want him to need special ed.
What else can I add onto that…How about put a damn email address on here so mom’s like me don’t have to make initial contact with a phone call. Ease me into it as they say.
Let me talk you down. No one wants their kid to be “special class special” but after having such a GREAT experience with Sophie’s public school preschool for kids with delays, I was banging down the door as early as possible to get a spot for Jonah. I freaking love those people and what they did/do for my kids! And the evaluation IS the worst part, but then it was, in our case, all goodgoodgoodgoodgoodgood!!
Sold! I want an amazing experience like that for Cooper. Thanks lady. This helps!
I have to agree with Jenny. I was actually sad that my daughter didn’t qualigy. My son has been in elementary for 2 years and he still talks about his old school. Best thing we could have done for him.
I love to hear that!! I hope it is a great experience for Cooper as well.
I agree with you and went through the same thing. That is what Henry was in for age 3 and 4. He is now age 5 in regular kindergarten. His ECSE teacher still meets with him once a week for a little extra help on some things but he is in a regular class. ECSE did wonders for my son hope for good luck for your son.
We are in the exact same boat! We are even selling our house and moving to get into a better special education program than our district has. You can do this! You are a powerful, strong, determined mama!
I don’t know what its like over there, but in Australia, special ed units at his age are all about helping to bring him up to the same levels as his peers so if you think of it like that, it would be the best thing for him to do if he needs it!! And you have all the resources in one spot instead of travelling from appointment to appointment! Good luck!
